In compliance with an official telegraph No. 2030 dated 22/3/1428, the preparation works in Al Kharj Medical College started with earnest efforts exerted by a galaxy of best educators who are specialized in varied medical fields and whose expertise and educational contributions helped design and plan a distinctive relevant curricula founded on the most recent achievements realized by the first five world top universities. To obtain a wider conceptualization of all medical subtleties, domestic curricula adopted in local medical institutes are considered. The ultimate purpose is to produce graduates capable to pursue a higher advanced education and to cope with the most recent advances in international universities and consequently to present their best medical care to all citizens.The practice of medicine has, over centuries, been aiming at enhancing health and well-being of mankind all over the globe. To achieve this goal, medical education has been the tool to transmit the knowledge, impart the skills, and inculcate the values of the profession in an appropriately balanced and integrated manner. At King Saud University, it is generally believed that practice of medicine and medical education should be planned and designed to respond to the domestic, social and medical needs in particular and the welfare of humanity in general. The profession of medicine is meant to keep abreast with the demands necessary for scientific developments and coincide with the cultural and relevant technological progress. It is imperative that medical educators understand and respond to these changes with a profession-related ethics. Moral of medical practice and education demands that patients' health status is always given a priority.
Al-Kharj College of Medicine has evolved in consideration of the demands of scientific and social development, which go hand-in-hand with the exceptional cultural and technological progress that has been witnessed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), particularly in recent years.
