- dear students, the university study of the academic year 1429H/1430H commences on Saturday 11/10/2008 AD.
- The Community College in Al-Dawadmi participates in the first meeting of the deans of the community colleges in the Kingdom hosted by King Abdul Aziz University, Jeddah.
- Patronized by his Excellency the Vice-minister of Higher Education, Dr. Mohammed Ben-Abdul Aziz Al-Ohaly, and in cooperation with the American Association of Community Colleges, the Community College in Jeddah organized the international scientific forum titled The Role of Community Colleges in Developing the Work Force on Tuesday 22/5/1429H the 27/5/2008AD. The forum had the following program:
- reciting the Holy Kur’an
- a speech on the forum delivered by Dr. Abdul-Ilaah Ben-Saifaddin Sa’ati.
- the speech of the Dean of the Community College in Jeddah, Prof. Ibrahim Ben-Isma’il Kitbi.
- the inauguration speech delivered by the President of the University, Prof. Osama Ben-Sadeq Yayeb. The activities of the forum were split into two sessions; the first one was about the international expertise of community colleges whereby the American experience presented by Dr. George Bogus and the British experience presented by Dr. Ian Hashman were introduced as the finest international experiences in the field. The second session dealt with the community colleges and the private sector.
On the margin of the forum and patronized by his Excellency Prof. Mohammed Ben-Abdul Aziz Al-Ohaly the Vice-minister of the Ministry of Higher Education, King Abdul Aziz University hosted, in Celebrations Hall and Conferences Centre, hosted the first meeting for the Deans of the community colleges in the Kingdom; 50 male and female Deans of community colleges attended this meeting whereby Dr. Abdullah Ben-Sa’ad Al-Yahya heading a delegation from the Community College in Al-Dawadmi participated in this meeting.
The meeting discussed the future plans of the Ministry of Higher Education with regard to the future of the community colleges in the Kingdom, the mechanisms of activating their role in training qualified labor force to fulfill the needs of the local labor market temporally and to have an effective role in fighting unemployment in the future. The meeting also touched upon the implementation of e-learning in the community colleges and exchanging expertise among colleges.
