The college of Architecture and Planning, King Saud Universirty has participated in many national and international design competitions. The college formed a team from the professors and teachings assistants and students and worked in the competitions with the spirit of one team to submit projects competing with the level of both national and international offices and firms. Among those the college won and achieved the first prize in the following competitions:

  • Complex of hotels, King Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz   philanthropy endowment in Al Madina  Almenawara. The project is on a site of 20,000 m2, neighboring to the Profit Mosque.

  • King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Grand Expansion of the Grand Mosque in Mecca.

The College of Architecture and Urban Planning website comes out at a time coinciding with the Inauguration of the University's Main Website by the University Council and with the introduction of a common preliminary year for all new students of the Colleges of Architecture and Planning, Engineering and College of Computer Science and Information Sciences. This preparatory year provides intensive courses in English, Mathematics and Computer Skills, and focuses on the development of learning, research and communication skills. The College of Architecture and Planning- Department of Architecture and Building Science participated in the training workshop, which was organized by Al-Turath Establishment, as part of the cooperation with the Prince of Wales traditional Arts School. Its focus was primarily on ratio and symmetry of Islamic Architecture.
