The Department of Radiological Sciences, part of the College Of Applied Medical Sciences (CAMS), King Saud University, had been leading in equipping the Saudi health sector with qualified radiological technologists trained on various disciplines of medical imaging and in radiotherapy The department runs a B.Sc. program which aims at preparing students, both theoretically and practically, to master the necessary skills in radiological technology through training in diagnostic radiographic imaging, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, computed tomography , and in radiotherapy in order to work efficiently in hospitals and clinics alongside medical practitioners. Nearly 100 highly qualified students graduate from the department each year, ready to join in the Saudi health care market. The department will soon launch its own diagnostic imaging clinic which will provide services in the utmost professional conduct provided by trained students and closely supervised by qualified medical and technical staff. |

Equipment installationThe Department finally finished installing its highly developed and most sophisticated equipment of up-to-date technology in the field of radiological sciences and which was preselected and carefully commissioned to international standards. The achievement came as a result of a joint-venture and close cooperation between King Saud University and the Department with the purpose of setting appropriate scientific environments in student's training, education, and in the research fields. A new gamma camera will "Tawasol" Service :"Towasel" Service (SMS) has been adopted lately in the department, by creating tow groups for radiological sciences department, which is useful to improve the communication between the staff for further benefits . Cooperation with Zahra Breast Cancer Association, 18.12.1429h :A one most noted participation of the Department in the public and community health service is the arranging and work for developing training courses to benefit male and female students. Promising cooperation has been lately put into effect between the Department and the Zahra Breast Cancer Association in pursue of providing post-graduate programs for graduate female students and for advanced workers in the mammography field, which will be supervised by the Department. |
