The US State Department Fulbright Program Invites Dr. AlAbdulkarim from the College of Applied Medical Sciences to Talk about Saudi Women and Accessibility to Higher Education
The Fulbright Program at the US State Department invited Dr. Lamya AlAbdulkarim from the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at the College of Medical Applied Sciences to give three talks on Saudi Women and Accessibility to Higher Education at the 2009 Fulbright Conference in Washington, D.C. The talks revealed that data from the Saudi Ministry of Planning show a decreased accessibility to higher education for Saudi women both in quantity and quality. Data also reflect a negative impact on the workplace. Dr. AlAbdulkarim recommended some solutions to improve women’s higher education which would have a return on national economy. The audience were interested in the talks.
