The important activities and participations KSU:Colleges:Applied Medical Sciences:Health Rehabilitation Sciences KSU -
  1. Establishment the basic moral regulations to practice the profession of physiotherapy in Kingdom and to document then internationally in international union of Association and the links of physiotherapy whereas they concentrated on three main points :
    • The responsibility of the specialist towards the patients.
    • The responsibility of the specialists towards his society.
    • The responsibility of the specialist towards the profession.
  2. Strengthening the relations of the profession by joining the membership in the following unions:
    • International Union for association and the connections of physiotherapy (WCPT) whereas the joining of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was published officially to membership of international union in the annual conference which held in Barcelona, Spain in June 2003.
    • Arab Union for physiotherapy whereas the joining of the association to the membership of the Union was announced in annual conference held in Beirut 2003.
  3. Establish website for the association on networks (www. spta.org.sa). The website was designed to achieve the scientific continuity of the colleagues in the same profession and to see what is new in this specialization. Furthermore it give the chance to know that is new in physiotherapy and the centers, and utilities where we can use them to increase the knowledge in this filed. . the website has many things which are important to the members and it facilitate the registration electronically an in contact the member of administrative board and others The website of the association composed of many forums whereas the modern treatment methods are mentioned in the field of physiotherapy and provide consultation to each question whether form the colleagues or the visitor of the forum.
  4. Exchange of the scientific experiences between the colleagues of the profession through monthly symposiums, workshops and training courses locally or internationally to achieve the continuity to achieve the scientific continuity between the colleagues and to development the clinical skills and to check the latest in the researches and the modern treating methods in the filed of physiotherapy. Eleven scientific symposiums were held through 2003 in collaborating with the great hospitals in Riyadh. Those symposiums quested international specialist lecturers as:
    • Steven DeConinck ; physiotherapist , Buljeki and the director of European Training Institute for orthopedic ( ETGOM).
    • Jon Peters, the deputy director of American Neurocom which manufactured Balance Master.
    • Robert Johnson, physiotherapist, American national, the director of branch of orthopedic department in American Association for physiotherapy (APTA).
    • Toby Holy, physiotherapist, Australian National, and the trainer of Mulligan treatment principle. Furthermore many courses and workshops endorsed internationally were held. Such as:
    • Cyriax Course
    • Series of McKenzie Courses.
    • Treating course by acupuncture.
    • Course in scientific research skills.
  5. Activate the role of physiotherapy for the services of the society though holding many guidance symposiums to many health problems which are spread between the community and the preventive and treating methods such as:
    • Education symposium in mental paralysis in children whereas it was held in King Faisal Specialist and researches symposium. The handicapped people were called to attend the course.
    • Education symposium in backache and presentational and treatment it whereas it is held in Price Salman Social Center.
    • Education symposium in Fibromyoalgia was held in Price Salman Social Center.
    • Education symposium in rheumatoid diseases in Price Salman Social Center.
    • Education symposium in osteoporosis which was held in Price Salman Social Center.
    • arrangement exhibition to the rehabilitation centers and medical exhibition which service the handicapped children with mental paralysis
    • issuing many educations publications about
    • Mental paralysis in children.
    • Rheumatoid diseases
    • Muscular fibers
    • Activate the role of the Association in the areas of kingdom outside Riyadh city by reforming committee to the branches under the deputy chairman of the association and establish two branches in eastern and western areas.
    • The first stage in recording the specialists who work in Riyadh. Then recording the specialists in kingdom of Saudi ArabiaCalculation numbers of the private centers which are specialist in physiotherapy (15 centers).
    • The guiding Day of physiotherapy 2004 which was held in King Faisal Hospital and Researches center.
    • Rearrange the First International Conference of physiotherapy, which was held in December 3005 in collaborating with Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz City for Human services
